Shaw & Co the corporate finance specialist is delighted to announce that it has advised on the Buy-in Management Buy-out (BIMBO) of Bath-based business Gradwell Communications, the award-winning provider of VoIP, broadband and cloud services to small businesses.

Shaw & Co acted for the vendors in the deal that saw private equity investor Altitude Partners exit to a management team led by new CEO Nick Caw and backed by Chiltern Capital. Founder Peter Gradwell will continue in his role following the deal and has retained a significant equity interest.

Shaw & Co advised Peter on Altitude’s original investment in the business in early 2012, and having maintained a close relationship with the main shareholders since then, has now delivered both a successful exit for Altitude, and new backing for Peter and the continuing team.

Peter Gradwell said: “I have worked with the team at Shaw & Co for more than five years now, they advised me on both the 2012 investment by Altitude and the latest deal with Chiltern.

"
They (Shaw & Co) have been an outstanding long term partner to me and the business. Their advice has been invaluable, and they have been a great support in my decision-making every step of the way. For ambitious owner-managers trying to grow their business, Shaw & Co’s offering is tailor made. "
