The sale of thin-film coating company Artemis Optical has been shortlisted in the ‘Small Deal of the Year (Sub £10m)’ category at Insider’s National Dealmakers Awards

Shaw & Co advised on the £8.9m sale of the business to Gooch & Housego (G&H), a specialist manufacturer of optical components and systems.

The deal is vying for the national award having won the ‘Small Deal of the Year (Sub £10m)’ category at last summer’s South West Dealmakers Awards.

The acquisition enhanced G&H's product portfolio, creating new opportunities for vertical integration and the cross-selling of the companies’ combined capabilities. In turn, Artemis was able to access new customers and territories for its offering by utilising G&H’s resources, expertise and global reach.

Stephens Scown and Burges Salmon also played integral roles on the deal.

The annual awards celebrate the standout deals across the UK over the past 12 months, recognising and rewarding the wealth of talent across its corporate finance and dealmaking community.
