Shaw & Co and Design By Structure have been nominated in the ‘Best Digital Rebrand’ and ‘Best Use of Digital – Professional Services Sector’ categories at the annual Digital Impact Awards.
Organised by Cravenhill Publishing, the awards celebrate the best corporate digital communications work in Europe.
Bristol-based Shaw & Co, a leading corporate finance advisory firm that helps business leaders and SME owners across the UK to buy, sell, or fund the growth of a business, appointed Design By Structure (Structure) to deliver a corporate rebrand including new a website - www.shawcorporatefinance.com.
The project sought to reposition the company as a market disruptor offering SMEs a better way of accessing corporate finance advice and services via the new website while also providing assets for the S&C marketing team to use in-house.
In particular, the website was designed to:
• Support Shaw & Co’s mission to democratise corporate finance, often seen as an impenetrable and inhuman world for SME businesses, making it more accessible, open, and transparent while helping them to achieve greater outcomes for their businesses;
• Support the company’s ambitious growth plan, including a re-brand to better articulate its value proposition and competitive positioning; and
• Place company clients as heroes and use their stories to demonstrate how Shaw & Co turns their “big ambitions into better outcomes”.
For the website, Structure expertly utilised its rebrand which comprises a disruptive green colour palette, supported with vibrant accents, that stands out in the industry amongst a sea of corporate blues. The brand approach continues across the website with a bold typeface to reflect ‘big ambitions’ and a handwritten typeface to promote a more human element. Hand-drawn devices (arrows, underscores etc) are also used throughout the site as points of emphasis in key messaging.
Paul Mills, Chief Marketing Officer, Shaw & Co: “To bring our ideas, brand architecture, marketing touchpoints and client stories to life we engaged with Design By Structure which immediately understood our strategic and creative goals.
“The project was supported by a major investment in our wider digital and data capability to enhance our client journey. This included significant investment in digital real estate such as the upgrading of the group’s CRM, as well as building automated workflows and establishing secure client portals.”
John Galpin, Co-founder, Design By Structure said: “You need a great client to do great work… and that’s what we got. There was a creative alignment and partnership between us and Shaw & Co from the beginning of this project. And because the team was very clear about the story they wanted to tell and what they wanted to achieve, this helped us accelerate our thinking and helped us do really great work for them”
