Matt is a Senior Manager supporting M&A and business funding transactions.

He joined Shaw & Co in September 2024, having worked for Lincoln International where he led capital raise transactions for private equity firms and founder-owned businesses in leveraged acquisitions and refinancings across multiple sectors, and in deal values ranging from £5m-£300m.

‍

Prior to this, he spent nearly three years at Grant Thornton where he specialised in creating integrated three-statement financial models for M&A, forecasting and valuations. He also spent over three years in the Assurance/Risk Assurance department at PWC where he worked with a range of FTSE 100 companies.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Matt has a BA (2:1) in Economics from Durham University.

At Shaw & Co, Matt's M&A support focuses on buying and selling businesses and helps with the preparation of investment papers, reviewing and building accompanying financial models and conducting market research to identify buyers, sellers and comparable transactions. His business funding support includes preparing funding proposals and financial modelling.

When away from the office, Matt enjoys football, tennis, running and travelling.
